i18n support

No way to do translations and localizations yet.
Moderately volunteering myself for it, but it'll be my first stab at sinatra+haml+gettext. If there's someone out there with more experience, let them be the ones to set it up and I'll just help translate and ensure strings are converted to _(strings).

The old pull request is superseded by this one, which is fully merged and tested. Please do verify that my tests are effective, if possible. They look fine to me and pass.

Let me know if you have any questions or comments on this, Steve. If I get a chance, I might try to bring it up to current HEAD but it shouldn't be too terribly far behind yet...
