500 when following a Diaspora user

when trying to follow my ostatus feed from diaspora, I got a 500 error. It did actually seem to work, concerning pulling in my feed correctly.
The error could be on my end, perhaps some bit of your parser or something doesn't like my atom, but if I could see a log of the error that would be pretty cool so we could make this work correctly.
